Rob & Valonia

Setting the scene:

On a little piece of land in the Vale of White Horse, Oxfordshire, two garden novices are overrun by rabbits on an allotment plot they named A Whole Plotta Love.

Meanwhile, at home on the banks of the Thames, they potter about on a tiny segment of ground known colloquially as The Boater’s Garden. It floods a lot.

It's a ghost of a world out there this morning.
*David Attenborough voice* And here we have the warm-bottomed gull, so named for their fondness of warming their feathery derrières on the top of boat chimneys. Possibly not unique to the Thames region, locals suspect their ancestors originated from tropical climes but got lost after a tour of the region's rubbish tips. Since then this unusual behavioural adaption has allowed generations of the gulls to survive life in the frozen wastelands of the Vale where they meet to discuss their ancestral legends of Piña Colada, San Miguel, and Calippo, the goddess of tropical fruit.
This little rascal ran off into the park with one of our bird feeders! We've not been able to recover the feeder, but it's difficult to be angry at something as cute as this. Photo by @nobbyc66
The best snow clearing team this side of the Downs*. We've worked a system out: I brush the snow away, Lolly inspects and hurls abuse at me (or sings, I'm not sure which), I follow behind with grit (only as much as is needed, and only in the centre of the pontoons so Little Miss Shouty Face doesn't walk in it and damage her paws), We have the best working relationship. Team LollVal. Vally? ValLol? Lollonia? Hmmm... *As accredited by me.
Trees that lead to other worlds. We all have our favourites. This is my Faraway Tree. It also leads me home.
It's a balmy -5°C for these guys.
